Located on the edge of Exmoor National Park, visitors are spoiled for choice when it comes to secret beaches, wild places, attractions and activities. We are an especially popular spot for walking breaks in North Devon, among various outdoor pursuits. The best ploughman’s I’ve ever had!
We were staying at Lynton and got the delightful cliff railway down to Lynmouth, we stopped here for a quick drink but on looking at the menu, we decided to stay for lunch. The best ploughman’s I’ve ever had, everything was homemade. Hubby had crab sandwiches, thick, chunky bread and utterly delicious. We highly recommend eating here, the food is amazing. The setting of the pub is in a beautiful location, right beside the sea, very traditional inside, just my favourite type of pub.

This is the second time we have stopped at the Rising Sun within a year and both stays have been perfect! The staff are very helpful and provide a superb service. We would highly recommend staying here and having a meal in the outstanding restaurant! We have stayed in two different rooms and both have been lovely with beautiful sea views. We will be returning very soon!
